We were thrilled to photograph the wedding of Jayne and Kris at Dumbleton Hall, a lovely hotel near Evesham. These pictures give you an idea of the day, but as always Jayne and Kris will have all the pictures to keep.
We photographed Steve and Diane’s wedding back in May, and yesterday received this lovely card, totally unsolicited and much appreciated:

just a note to say thank you so very much for the wonderful wedding photographs you took for us on 22nd May. We are absolutely thrilled with them.
You did a superb job on the day and it was a delight to have the two of you spend the day with us. We very much hope to meet up with you again sometime in the future.

We love it when we can use our equipment to get the kind of picture that no-one else can. This lovely house (currently available through estate agents G. Herbert Banks) looks good from street level, but from the top of our telescopic mast you can really see the setting.

Social photography is where you photograph people at events for publication in magazines or for PR purposes. It can often look like the same old suits and dresses at a podium or shaking hands. The trick is to show the passion and excitement — this can be difficult at a corporate occasion!
We have worked for Worcestershire Life for a few years, and do occasional PR shoots for local businesses and council departments. Rachel recently photographed an awards ceremony for Discover Worcestershire, arranged by Sara Stewart of Mad as a March Hare. Sara is great fun, but a serious PR professional, and really appreciated Rachel’s pics:

We appear to have gone global — friends of Richard and Assel from all over the world have been checking out their pictures. We’re happy to travel to warmer climes if anyone needs wedding photographs!!
On Friday we undertook the wedding photography at Eastnor Castle for Richard and Assel. A great couple at lovely location.
A couple asked us to take a picture of the Malvern Hills for their wedding invitations. So we did!
Nikon Owner Midlands Group Meeting,
Saturday evening, July 3rd, 2010
You are invited to the re-launch of the Nikon Owner Midlands Group with Nikon Owner subscribers Rachel and Phil Hibberd at 7.30 p.m., on Saturday evening, July 3rd. The venue that has been chosen for this initial meeting is the Malvern Hills Hotel, Jubilee Drive, Wynds Point, Great Malvern, WR13 6DW .

The Malvern Hills Hotel is high on the western slopes of the Malverns in the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty and just a stone’s throw from the Iron Age hill fort, British Camp. The hotel itself is a major landmark with a breathtaking panoramic vista from 1,115 feet above sea level which still remains just as spectacular in the 21st century as when it was first constructed. Malvern has a rich cultural heritage of forts, castles and priories within a landscape of ancient woodland, rolling pastures and wild, open commons. The area is also home to a diversity of locally and nationally important wildlife.
We hope that this initial meeting will act as a spring-board for useful photographic discussion, further meetings (perhaps an itinerant schedule of venues might be workable within the broad Midlands area, to make it easier for everyone to attend), and hopefully a number of photo-outings. The meeting starts at 7.30 p.m., and you are invited to bring some samples of your photographic work if you would like to do so. Partners and family members are also welcome.

Using a telescopic mast for aerial shots of houses is nothing new, and masts come in many sizes. Being blokes, most photographers get the tallest, biggest mast they can. Usually these are mounted onto towing hitches of 4X4s or vans.
We know that it’s not the size of the mast, it’s how it is used. Our 15m mast is (just about) man-portable, which means we can photograph from the end of a garden, or even carry the mast through a house to get the right angle. On the Malvern Hills, this can be really useful. Here’s what it looks like:
